Listen: Deastro

Blake Gillespie

Making Michigan seem less like a rusted mitten and more like a Michael Jackson glove.

Deastro, government name Randolph Chabot, has been recording his fantasies since the prodigal age of 12. Ten productive years later, Deastro maintains a frolicsome approach to music with a sound that thrives off fantastic melodies. Since signing to Ghostly International, Deastro has been featured in the Adult Swim compilation Ghostly Swim, with the song “Light Powered.”

Deastro, “Light Powered”

Deastro's most recent offering Keepers is a fantastic tour through the first decade of a potentially high-powered career to come. Hard at work on his formal debut Moondagger, Deastro was kind enough to bless us with one more jewel from his archives.

Deastro, “Tree Frog”

Moondagger will watermark a significant shift in Deastro's recording career as he has enlisted a full band to aid in the creation of his extravagent dream pop fantasies. Sneak on over to Deastro's Myspace page to hear the first single from Moondagger, “Parallelogram.”
