Matmos, “A Bruit Secret Mix”

Diana Burmistrovich

Serial chop-and-screw duo Matmos are back with an untitled remix from Jefferson Friedman's latest Quartets off of New Amsterdam Records. Friedman, who is responsibe for the string arrangements on Matmos' 2006 The Rose Has Teeth in the Mouth of a Beast, is getting his own dose of skewed pop as Matmos use his string arrangements in tandem with Harvard University's Blodgett Artists-in-Residence the Chiara String Quartet to create a stunningly diluted pop track in their typical house-influenced soundscape style.
