Sea Wolf to release first LP in the fall

Post Author:

On his breakout EP Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low, Sea Wolf's Alex Church sings “I picture you out there, it must be beautiful this time of year / all those east coast leaves, floating 'round like embers from burning trees” on his song “Garden That You Planted.” Church takes this sentiment of love and loss and turns it into a trope, his words flowing seamlessly into his new full length, titled Leaves in the River, due out September 25th on Dangerbird Records.

Church's simple guitar picking, which forced a sort of naked honesty on his songs, will be complimented on the new album by “chilling” cello. It was recorded with help from Phil Ek and Jacquire Kin (Tom Waits, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, Archie Bronson Outfit, about 900 other folk-inflected rock bands).

Sea Wolf is touring with label mates Silversun Pickups through July and August.
