Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett strike again.

In the first collaboration between Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett since Gorillaz, the pair get one genetic step closer to their own DNA with Monkey, a reproduction of Journey to the West, a classic Chinese text about pilgrimage, enlightenment and, if this video is to be believed, some of that flying through the air with swords and silk robes thing. Pretty awesome, especially with the subtitles that spell out the Chinese—even without handing us a morsel of what they're saying, there's an obvious narrative weight that the pair have managed to translate through the campy visuals and very Western electro-drama-pop music.
