Nashville four-piece Bully has stepped it up a notch on the new single “I Remember”. Mixed by grunge-rock luminary Steve Albini, for whom front-woman Alicia Bognanno was once an intern, “I Remember” pulls the rug out from underneath 2013’s self-titled debut with this grinding ode to lost love. By amping up the volume and moving away from Best Coast towards The Breeders, Bully’s roughed up sound is exactly what this band needed to make it out of Nashville and onto the bill for this year’s summer festivals. While the song chronicles a list of somewhat cliche break-up artifacts, the searing production and unrelenting kick-drum make it anything but cheesy. Steam “I Remember” below.
