Now based in London, Derbyshire born Dawson Reeve pulls on his experience busking all over the globe to produce beautifully crafted pop tunes, pinned around rock solid acoustic guitar lead arrangements. His new single ‘Hurricanes’ typifies this approach and also boasts a stunning vocal performance to boot. The electro-chill leaning production ebbs and flows to produce and almost hypnotic space, whilst mirroring the lyrical content, as Dawson says “Hurricanes captures the palpable build up to ‘that conversation’. The conversation you don’t want to have but can’t escape and that can destroy a relationship in a moment.”
The single comes after Dawson’s debut and slightly poppier ‘Circumstance’ from late last year, which garnered support from BBC Introducing, and culminated in this Sofar Sounds performance and this stunning acoustic version of the track whilst touring in Iceland.
