After the success of her Pieces In Space project, Philly-based producer-MC Sammus is set to share her success with the world on an 11-city tour. The tour started yesterday with a show at Ithaca’s The Haunt, which also featured Vagabon. She will spend the rest of the summer traveling the country, even reaching Canada with an August 30th date in Vancouver with Mega Ran. Just about every show has another artist on the bill, giving attendees a local flavor along with Sammus’ energetic live performance.
Pieces In Space was a well rounded, cathartic work in which Sammus mused introspectively about trials in her life, her music career, and being a self-described “weirdo.” The project helped reaffirm her new space as a cult hero of sorts for those who relate to her honest, affable musings. A national tour is a hell of a way to for the Cornell PhD candidate to meet those people and spend her summer break. You can see the dates below.
