Local Natives go acoustic at Lou’s Records

Post Author: Michael Christy

The indie rock vets played stripped-down versions of new tracks & old fan faves in San Diego

Last weekend, Local Natives – the indie rock legends-in-the-making – stopped by for a quick visit at the landmark Encinitas record store Lou’s Records for a stripped-down acoustic performance. To a crowd of several hundred packed into Lou’s tiny parking lot, the Los Angeles band performed ethereal renditions of tracks off their latest record Time Will Wait For No One, as well as a handful of greatest hits including “Heavy Feet” and “When Am I Gonna Lose You.”

The atmosphere was divine at Lou’s. Sunny beach weather brought in a flock of nearby beachgoers, random passersby got a glimpse through the chain link on the street behind the building, and some fans even climbed up, laid out towels and watched from the rooftop of the neighboring establishment. The whole experience embodied the spirit of a San Diego summer. For the full highlights, you can scroll below.
