Sunday was the day it became clear that the lineups wouldn’t be as promised for any of the festival. It was also the day Dan Deacon roused an initially reluctant Mexican crowd into a writhing dance circle, followed by Andrew W.K.’s relentless party-terrorism.
Seriously, if bands cited fear of partying with Andrew W.K. as a reason to bail on the festival, we would’ve understood. Also with a blissful early Telepathe set, the inscrutable and fantastic White Ninja, the greatest jam out short of Acid Mothers Temple of the whole festival in Los Fancy Free’s final 15-minutes, and Teeth Mountain to close out the raucous Das Racist afterparty at Garage.
