Debut: Big Spider's Back, “Black Chow”

Video by Big Pauper

Boy o' boy do we miss printing up Impose issues. But watching Big Spider Back's video for "Black Chow" reminds us that we did the right thing. Going paperless feels incredible in relation to these vintage clips of lumber companies decimating acres upon acres of forest. Big Spider Back's pristine-electronica backed by hip hop percussion should inspire feelings of salvation and release. Director Big Pauper presents "Black Chow" in the context of lumber workers cackling while they hack down redwoods, which offers a troublesome interpretation of the lyrics "put all your pressure on me."
