Oakland's Mwahaha need a place in the Bay to take this creepy blend of 60's prog and psych to on a monthly basis. I want to catch wind of a venue, much like The Matrix to the 60's psych-scene, that is a haven for everything freakish and uninhibited. Mwahaha need a venue with a monstrous projection apparatus to cast their video for "Rainbow Diamond" on themselves and the movers and shakers. The band is celebrating the pysch-golden era (or guilded, choose sides) on "Rainbow Diamonds" that thrived on nonsensical lyrics of kaleidoscopic nature. Lead Ross Peacock sings a loaded homage of "I can see the silver lining / it's breaking through / like rainbow diamond" right before a chugging acension, complemented by tapestry and glo-in-the-dark faces.
Mwahaha's self-titled debut is out now.
