With the greater force on an indefinite hiatus, the two-headed songwriter of Wolf Parade surgically separated in order to further pursue those alternate projects. Dan Boeckner and his wife Alexei ready the next Handsome Furs album, engaging our prurient desires with some NSFW album art, while Spencer Krug speaks to our intellectual side with his Moonface project.
First up is Handsome Furs' Sound Kapital, which is taking cues from industrial Europe and deep house. The record was written entirely on keyboards as opposed to the Springsteen days of earlier Handsome Furs material. We have “What About Us” and “Repatriated” as guiding lights into the peppier territory that Handsome Furs is exploring. We also have some female physique to for you to admire, while you indulge in the anthemic vibes and stuff.

In '09 Spencer Krug debuted his Moonface project with the 20-minute track-as-an-album Dreamland EP: Marimba and Shit-Drums. With time to himself once again, Krug is deep in his dreamland once again. Moonface is now an organ band, because his vibraphone plans fell thru, but still sprawling as the 5-track EP times out at 37 minutes of dualing organs. Krug debuted 8-minutes of the EP with “Fast Peter,” a half-cooked heart-felt pop song that finds new life around the five-minute mark.
