Quintessential punk band Crass playing in late November

Post Author:

Crass epitomized political punk music in the late 70s and early 80s. They penned songs as “tactical responses” to ongoing political events, got Rough Trade employees to slip their records into other artist's sleeves during packaging, leaked a fake conversations between Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher that cost them an attempted prosecution under UK's Obscene Publications Act and ultimately broke up in 1984, the year they'd announced their imminent demise for years prior.

While a press release announcing an upcoming London performance by Crass founder Steve Ignorant warns that the band “ended in 1984, and will never reform,” it also promises that Mr… Ignorant will perform Feeding Of The 5000, their classic 1978 EP with “special guests.”

Also performing are Conflict, The Disrupters, Zounds, Deviated Instinct and The Restarts.
