Background
Ten Fé has run into unprecedented success in 2016. Feb. 2017 brings Hit The Light, their full-length album, which they’ve been teasing, track by track this Fall.
In teasing this release, five of their singles have hit no. 2 on Hype Machine — FIVE.
Not to mention a couple people listening to them on Spotify (6 million streams…).
“Twist Your Arm” is an incredible Monday tune. With Leo on vocal, Ben on the slide, a gospel choir of mates and Ewan Pearson’s pulsating electronics taking it down a Weatherall / Screamadelica route, it’s a real stomper.
How did the band put it together? Should’ve asked them:
“We came to Ewan (Ewan Pearson, producer) with what is basically an old, bluesy-type tune. Slide guitars, chain-gang backing vocals, gospel piano – and Ewan took it in a Weatherall / Primal Scream / Screamadelica direction, which was fine by us [because] that was why we wanted to work with him! And he preserved enough of the original vibe for it to still feel kind of rootsy.” -Leo Duncan, Ten Fé
