Benjamin Finger presents us with the premiere of the Clark Nova remix of “Geek the Freak” that can be found on Benjamin’s recent album 10 from SellOut! Records. The Norwegian artist’s latest cycle is an exercise in utilizing & arranging electronic percussive elements to create textures of rhythm & sensation that expanded into the ambient ether of kinetic air. The Clark Nova remix of “Geek The Freak” teases out the alternate night-clubbing elements of the track where decades of Euro beats are introduced to the original. BF’s synth stems are re-scattered across an intricate network of freeway-like circuit arrangements where the freak-ish & geek-ish factors of “Geek The Freak” is expanded into a deluxe dance dish to be enjoyed while en route on any travel event (or to just be enjoyed in the comforts of your room).

And like the time traveling nature of the remix that defies chronology, Benjamin Finger’s video for the Clark Nova remix of “Geek the Freak” busts out all the vintage family film reels that focuses on all the raddest dance parties ragers ripped from the twentieth century archives. Matching the movement of the found visuals with all the rhythms at work; the BF x CN collision is brought to a life that could work in nearly all recently recalled eras. From swing dances, conga lines & plenty of disjointed coordination & wonky choreography—the work of both Finger & Nova is brought together in a dazzling event that you could imagine your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts & uncles alike cutting up rugs to in perfect time.

Benjamin Finger shared with us the following exclusive introduction to the remix & self-made video:

The music video is directed by myself. I edited old and found Super 8 reels. The material primarily focused on people dancing through different times and cultures. Footwork is a key here. The remix is by Clark Nova [oka Rudi Simmons] who also plays in Beneva vs. Clark Nova. His intention was to create a joyful house and techno influenced mood to it. Let´s dance!
