White Lung, “St. Dad”

Maria Sherman

The primarily female Canadian punk band White Lung return with their second LP, Sorry on the always phenomenal Deranged Records. Delving into more melodic territory than the 2010 debut “It’s the Evil,” but in no compensating their taut guitar riffs and no nonsense attitude, “Sorry” is a kick in the throat (in the best way possible.) In “St. Dad,” White Lung pay homage to the short lived Florida band of the same. As both inventive bands of a similar caliber, in this bizarrely accessible track, White Lung craft what punk should sound like in 2012.
