Deams convinces NY's legends to respect Amsterdam

The name may lack resonance, but Deams has been down with some living legends since the 90s, when he debuted as the first international artist in the Gangstarr Foundation. When Gangstarr and Jeru Da Damaja were making their classic debuts, Deams was sharing a house with the emcees and DJ Premier. This affiliation earned him a Guru produced single, but the video boasted a non-Guru produced version. Though his fame did land him a cameo from porn star Heather Hunter.

Over a decade later, the Netherlands born MC has returned to his roots, repping his homeland, but he brought all his New York rapper friends to help people remember the name. His debut EP, The Legacy, features contributions from Big Daddy Kane, Jeru Da Damaja, Ice-T and De La Soul.
