DJ and Record collector Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers compilation series has showcased a bevy of talented instrumentalists like Flying Lotus and Dam-Funk. The series took a three year hiatus, missing out on a wide range of talented artists but came back in the big way this year with a two-part Volume 12. The first part of the compilation was released in April and the second edition is here today.
Following in the mold of previous Brownswood Bubblers releases, the project features a well-culled collection of some of the best producers in the underground, from the majestic flute-driven exploits of Wildflower’s “Flute Song” to African drums on Blood Wine Or Honey’s raucous “Anxious Party People” and the pensive organ play on God Colony’s “Turn My G Down.”
The LP comes as a digital release as well as a vinyl, which contains all 11 tracks. You can stream the project below, or purchase here.
