Iansucks, “Person Box”

Post Author:

Four piece confessional pop collective Iansucks – a band that is now comprised of Ian Ellis, Emma Mayer, Kelly Beaton, and Adam Nikkel – is about to release their second full-length album, Don’t Give In To The Bad Feelings, on October 6th. We’ve got the premiere of their latest single “Person Box” to help keep you at bay until the release of their aforementioned album.

The song starts off with a light cacophony of sound, then a pretty damn gnarly guitar riff. “Goddam, who’s that laughin’ upstairs?” start the vocals of the track off favorably, as a relatively vivid narrative is spoken/sung. The chorus sets in – almost twinkling, nested beautifully in the reverb – and the song becomes whole. “Who said we would ever get far?” begins the second verse, and we wonder if every verse starts with a paramount question. Spoken, and then a choir of angelic voices, once again.

“Person Box” is like this perpetual feeling of light and dark, and it’s quite invigorating.

Iansucks will be touring eastern Canada this autumn.
