It’s safe to say Bronx MC Kemba has had the most successful name change this side of 2Chainz, and he’s still growing. After evolving from YC the Cynic after a period of enlightenment, he dropped Negus and earned the attention of many — including Kendrick Lamar, who invited him to perform at a New York show last year.
His brand of social commentary and unabashed Pro-Blackness over soulful production captivated many — and his new track “Delivert” aims to do the same thing. Over a glorious soul sample hooked up by Thelonious Martin, Kemba reflects on his come up but informs that, “I don’t have no time no more, meeting at Jurassic Park these labels dinosaurs.”
