Kendrick Lamar's stlye regularly flirts with a free association that informs his wordplay and it's dialed-in on “My Mind Drifts”. One verse is all Kendrick lent to Peter Rosenberg for his What's Poppin' Vol. 1 mixtape and it's a peculiar offering that sounds as though Kendrick is imitating fellow Los Angeles rapper Blu. The verse is under a minute, making it a light work out that ends abruptly. Can't really fault Kendrick for drifting instead of paddling upstream considering his break-out work on Section.80 and this is just a Rosenberg mixtape.
