Men I Trust – “Norton Commander (All We Need)” video

Canadian dream-pop band Men I Trust have quickly become one of the most hyped rising bands in music. Their single “Show Me How” was one of the best songs of last year, they’ve graced the stages of major music festivals such as Coachella and Camp Flog Gnaw, and they’re set to release their highly-anticipated new album Oncle Jazz sometime this year. Now they’ve released a chilled-out and ethereal new single and video called “Norton Commander (All We Need).”

Singer Emma Proulx’s soothing, whispery croon wafts over dreamy guitar riffs and effervescent atmospheric synths. Furthermore, bubbly, swelling basslines anchor the track’s smooth sonic soundscapes, perfect for those laid-back summer nights spent relaxing on beachy patios. Men I Trust have cultivated such a strong and unique musical aesthetic, cementing themselves as the poster-child for the new wave of modern dream-pop. In the track’s gorgeous music video, Proulx drives around with a friendly stranger in a classic wood-paneled car, passing through vibrant LA neighborhoods as well as the Coachella Valley’s barren, windmill-drenched landmarks and rural dirt roads. The video was shot between recent Coachella weekends, and it perfectly captures the band’s laid-back, wandering spiritual vibes. Overall, it’s a fantastically moody and tranquilizing track that leaves us desperately craving Oncle Jazz. Still no word on a release date yet, but in the meantime, you can watch the video for “Norton Commander (All We Need)” below.
