Cribbing influence from contemporaries and best friends Speedy Ortiz, Palehound's latest single, “Pay No Mind” is a meandering guitar-heavy song with squealing overlays. The track is another from Palehound's forthcoming Kitchen 7″, and on it, you'll hear Ellen Kempner's dominant vocal patterns and inventive melodies run all the way up and down the densely-packed track. Its certain power, however, comes from the buzzing feedback that plays at its climax, making this track a perfect example of the group's ever-growing guitar technique.
The Kitchen 7″ can be preordered from Exploding In Sound Records before its February 25 release date.
