Brooklyn's Raw Thrills is the psych-pop bedroom project of Zak Mering, one-half of the duo Greatest Hits. This week, Mering dropped his Essential Thrills tape via Australian imprint Airlines Tapes. The tape compiles a collection of lo-fi, hazy pop songs he wrote, produced and recorded from 2008-09 in Los Angeles.
On “Most Still”, Mering offers a bright tune drowned in distorted vocals and guitars backed with the metronome click of a drum machine beat sprinting along. The tape is loaded with 23 tracks that makes us reminiscent of sunnier days.
