New York’s own Sam Evian has been hard at work preparing his debut album Premium, set to release on September 30th. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of his latest track, “Dark Love”, to get you a little more amped about his upcoming release.
This song is a combination of fun 70’s music and synth that would make the angels of the 80’s cry. Sam’s ambient, high-pitched vocals make you feel like you’re soaring through a cloud-filled dream. We keep imagining ourselves in that “Pleasuretown” Anchorman scene, minus the sex part, surrounded by stars and animated animals, riding unicorns. That is the visual version of this song.
“This year has been dark and trying on so many levels,” admits Sam. “I know all of us are feeling sick from the violence. This song was a playful attempt at imagining a simple and deep love after all of the destruction- apocalypse-end of the world-whatever you want to call it. But now I’m focused on what’s happening in my home state of NC, so I’m going to use this little piece of internet to point in this direction.”
