SK Shares Soulful Jam ‘Nostalgia’

We’ve been treated recently to a wave of artists bringing retro sounds, back to the fore in a contemporary way.

It’s an approach that’s driving a whole new generation of Soul and Jazz in the UK and Luton native SK, Could be the next big name in the genre. From a young age, SK was a vinyl junkie. Raised on the sounds of Aretha Franklin and Donny Hathaway, her tastes evolved towards the jazzier sounds of the musical spectrum.

Aside from her solo material, she’s also began building an audience with her band The Kings. The new single ‘Nostalgia’ is the young songwriters first step into solo work. The track leans on elements of old soul and jazz, leaning on live instrumentation throughout. On the new single she states:

Nostalgia was written when I was in my last relationship, it’s about yearning for the infinite possibilities of the beginning and realising after it was over that the only thing I really had the entire time was those memories
