Philadelphia duo drops infectiously jangly single off upcoming LP

Snoozer is an alternative rock band from Delaware County, Pennsylvania comprised of brothers Mike and Tom Kelly. So far they’ve released two full-length albums together, 2014’s Cottage Cheese and 2022’s Zzz, and since 2016, Tom has been the touring drummer for Alex G while Mike has recorded and produced for his solo project Shyin and Orchids. On Sept. 13, Snoozer is set to release their new LP Mid-Earth, their first for Born Losers Records. Following the release of previous singles “Behave” and “Love’s Permission,” they’ve now shared “Fadda Radda,” the infectiously jangly new single off that forthcoming album.

“Fadda Radda” is a twangy slacker rock track packed with dueling acoustic and electric riffs, stomping rhythms, and a sort of mindlessly catchy chorus that’ll lodge itself in your brain for days on end. It’s also got a laid-back indie-folk and southern rock kick to it that conjures a perfectly languid end-of-summer anthem.

“I remember making the ‘Fadda Radda’ riff and thinking ‘why am I making this Doobie Bros bullshit?’ and discarded it,” they shared. “A few weeks later while I was on my bike this weird chant popped in my head: ‘Fadda Radda Ra Yeah” and I realized it was to the chords of the stupid Doobie riff. That was that.”
