The Dazies, “Do The Snake”

Post Author:

Long story, short. Let’s Rock!” reads the Long Description of The Dazies’ Facebook page. For the Boston based rockers, led by Mikey Holland, a blunt sense of humor isn’t the only thing they’re showing off. Other than performing with fellow rockers like Parquet Courts and Gringo Star, the Dazies blessed us with a short collection of gems. Their three track EP, L O V E / J O Y, released in December of 2015, boasts bodacious drums, hard-rockin’ vocals, and lots of head-nodding moments.

Back with “Do The Snake,” The Dazies bring a too cool for school vibe in two quick minutes, enticing us from the opening chord sequence. Featuring vocals that at times creep on the edge of screaming, Holland encourages us to “Do the snake,” leaving us to our own devices to interpret what dance move that could possibly entail. A sort of (very) alternative Electric Slide, the “snake” is perfect for anyone looking for a quick mood boost. We dare you to listen to it and try to sit still… and not only is it a great dance number, it’s also got earworm potential.
