Avid readers of Impose know that we’re fans of JD Samson. We feel JD is an important voice in music today, and so it only makes sense to team up with two of the world’s preeminent sociopolitical voices, Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina.
According to an interview with NME in the magazine’s November 29 issue, the two women have been making new tracks and videos with the Men frontperson. Tolokonnikova tempered expectations though, saying an album isn’t their priority, “Right now we want to make videos.” Considering all three artists’ penchant for politically and socially-charged (and sometime titillating) videos, we’re excited to see the results. Further details about the collaboration have yet to be released, but in a recent Facebook post, Samson let it be known that co-Le Tigre Johanna Fateman is also working on the recordings.
