Push The Feeling dance night becomes a label

Silver Hands is an appropriate name for the mercurial, 80s-tinged duo delivering quite a banger for San Francisco-based Push the Feeling’s debut label release. Initially started as a monthly cult dance night based at the Underground SF, it’s the party’s first glimmering, four-on-the-floor foray into the recording business. And quite the earwormy introduction as well.

A collaboration between resident party DJ Drew Marcogliese and Love Grenades singer Liz Wight, Silver Hand’s Skulls EP features the addictive original track along with four additional remixes from an assortment of DFA, Voltaire, and Italians Do It Better veterans.
Brimming with jagged synths, swooping vocals, and a seemingly unstoppable drum machine, the original track is an undeterrable jam that’s pure electro-pop gold.

The remixes are repeat-worthy as well. Ranging from Simonetti’s twisted, zig-zag of a story to Woolfy’s guitar-infused singalong, they constantly oscillate between contemplative and coy to itinerant and undulating. Never settling for the wonk-loving, disco-esque niche most will try to assign them.

But you can judge for yourself this Saturday, July 5 at Push the Feeling’s release celebration. And expect a stunning, head-shaking rendition of their addictive initial EP. Just leave the polyester pants at home.
