Ryan Hemsworth, Canadian producer and Pokemon enthusiast, shared via his Facebook today that he is releasing a new EP next month, the first track of which can be heard at the embed below through Mixmag. “Perfectly” is a lighthearted mix that shines and shimmers, but features Hemsworth's signature distorted, mouthy vocal additions that remind us of underwater tubes opening and closing. There's even a piano and some twinkly, childish tones, and there's a definite Charli XCX or J-Pop vibe, with underlying layers of Hemsworth's melancholic cadences. It feels like a warped track pulled straight from the My Neighbor Totoro soundtrack. We look forward to what the rest of the EP might hold. Hemsworth is stopping through Europe this month and next, and you can catch him abroad at the dates below this track.
