Writer is Andy and James Ralph, from San Diego. The two pull off a big woeful sound without the help of outside blood. Andy's also an artist and James works at a recording studio. They're obviously part of a San Diego circle and they've worked with other instrumentalists for Writer. But at some point they decided they could do it on their own, and what's better than a bro duo? (A sister duo, probably?)
“Miss Mermaid”, a track we're pleased to debut, channels a Neil Youngoid vocal melody captured on a four track with sentimental scruff, some kinda dirty flanger, and SoCal fried noise aesthetics. Lookout for a full-length from Writer down the line, and a drip of tracks like this one until then.
