As though no time had passed at all, the legendary indie rock outfit Pavement returned to New York City this past week to kick off a series of shows at live venue landmark Brooklyn Steel. Stephen Malkmus and company launched into a packed setlist full of old classics, fan favorites and deep cuts, keeping the energy at a blistering high, exactly like the live performances of their peak years. Meanwhile, acclaimed Canadian indie up-and-comers Kiwi Jr. came through with a stellar opening set of their own.
