The French pop rock band hit the Hearst Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA, on October 7th, ahead of the upcoming release of their seventh record, Alpha Zulu. The set included the usual hallmarks of a Phoenix show: hits like “1901,” “Lisztomania,” and “Lasso,” a figure in a Venetian Bauta costume, and an encore featuring a blue harpsichord. Besides the music, it was a visually stunning show, with a series of screens framing the band in different settings, backgrounds, and at one point projecting images of the crowd viewed from binoculars on stage.
