Earlier this year, Brooklyn-based band Wilder Maker returned with a split 7” as a part of Saddle Creek’s “Document” series. The two tracks, “New Streets” and “Only Child,” highlight the beautiful vocal dynamic between Gabriel Birnbaum and Katie Von Schleicher and bring warm, rich, nostalgia-inducing textures to lose yourself in.
Wilder Maker is set to cap off the Summer with a set at this year’s Welcome Campers festival hosted by The Wild Honey Pie. Unlike most music fests, Welcome Campers stages each musical performance in its own unique space with no overlaps with some kayaking, arts and crafts, tennis, nature hikes, campfires, volleyball, basketball, kickball and more sprinkled in-between.
Ahead of Welcome Campers, Wilder Maker put together a special playlist they’re sharing exclusively with Impose Magazine today, “Songs for Staring into the Campfire After One Too Many.” Spanning sixteen tracks from Fleetwood Mac to Big Thief to Brian Eno, the playlist is tailor made for a particular time and feeling as the band details below.
“This playlist follows a reveler through the many stages of a long night of drinking – lust, dancing, remorse, forgetfulness, and finally euphoric appreciation of the natural beauty of a sunrise. We can only hope your time at Welcome Campers will be as rich and eventful.”
