Outside Lands San Francisco, Day 2

Post Author: , Jenz

Sonny and the Sunsets kept the fog at bay with their lazy rock and roll bringing nothing but sunshine for Outside Lands second day. STRFKR may be guilty of having more than 3 bros in synths at the same time but they kept the attitude posi and the harmonies in eleoquent fashion. Even the guitar licks were decent, reminding you that they like to shred too.

Artic Monkeys played a tight set that coincided with the final night of their U.S. tour. For us UK pop appreciating yanks, we are happy for the chance to enjoy a semblance of Libertines-lite rock while the weather remains fair and sunny. Sia played to cloud pillows of swisher coated grass to a lazy crowd of festival colors. The Black Keys played amazing as all the hype would have you believe. Sure their records are terrific and all but their greatest strength lies in their synergistic drums to guitar relationship. Then as you would have expected, Muse brought the park down with all the dramatics and laser light show stuff that keeps the crowds coming back for more.

Oh, there was also a clandestine Patron after party involving open bars in alternate Regencey Ball room realities. This involved rope dancing, a live gypsy band, sword balancing, picture booths, plush deco and smuggling silver out in a Fiji water bottle. Beautiful times.
