Last week we gave you Gigamesh's "Dream On" video, which summarized the plot of the 1984 film Breakin'. For "All My Life", rather than continue on into Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, Gigamesh fast-forwards into an idyllic future with a young Michael York, sporting perfect hair. The condensing of the 1976 film Logan's Run is not as cut-n-dry as Gigamesh's previous video.
For those unaware, Logan's Run is about an idyllic future world with a dark secret; at the age of 30 your life is terminated, even if you're Michael York. Gigamesh's "All My Life" would fit right at home in a revamp of the soundtrack. Much like "Dream On" captured the electro-boogie of Breakin', "All My Life" slyly taps into the futuristic world of Logan's Run, while the film's last living 30-year olds on the run mirrors the song's sentiment. By the time the lovers on the run make it to the safe wilderness beyond the oppressive walls of society, Gigamesh is crafting a celebratory outro that gives off a "love conquers all" vibe.
Gigamesh's All My Life EP is out now on Kitsuné America.
