Lt. Headtrip, "Three Dollar Watch"

Post Author: Andre G

Life can often feel like it’s consuming you. That’s the motif at play in Lt. Headtrip’s new video for his “Three Dollar Watch” track. The Karma Kids collective member got with director Gary Blake to film an unsuspecting mouse cavorting about a snake tank, unknowing that he’s set to be catch of the day for a slithering snake. Speaking of snakes, the “Three Dollar Watch” track is a three-part narration of one young girl’s tumultuous life with predacious abusers. The song is featured on Lt. Headtrip’s Comedy Of The Filthbeast album.
Lt. Headtrip rhymes in a methodical tone, aided by the underlying whir of the gnashing guitar riff that sets the stage for his intense rhymes – and the mouse being figuratively rocked to sleep before the inevitable takedown occurs. Along with the video, Lt. Headtrips released an ialive-produced remix to “Three Dollar Watch,” which provides an even more ominous soundscape to undertake the perilous narrative.
