OYLS, “Maps”

Post Author: Emily Chu
OYLS is a very interesting dynamic duo, made up of David Kirshenbaum (a former corporate consultant) and Michael Lipp (a former strip club DJ). Between the men and their previous occupations, there isn’t a duo out there quite like them. They’ve just premiered a music video for their track, “Maps”, and it’s just as unique as the guys themselves.
This video was directed by Blaine Miller and Joe Barnathan. In regards to the video, Michael says,”As an emerging independent electronic duo, it was important to us that we had a live exotic animal in our video. We ran the idea past our friend and director Blaine Miller, he completely understood and explained that ‘the bear is a perfect symbol.’ We’re hopeful that people really connect with what we’re trying to get across.”
“Maps” follows OYLS and a bear, with random other video clips scattered in between. From gymnasts on bikes to gymnast bears, pillow fights to sexy bears, piñatas to wild bear footage, this video has it all. This video will have you singing along in no time – “We’ve got nothing to hold on to, we’ve got nothing to respond to, it’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright…”
