Huichica Festival is this weekend and we have another Rhinefarm Session that captures the California sun and Steinbeckian countryside, this time featuring Alina Hardin performing Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”.
The crepuscular rays are almost blinding in this video shot by Emilee Booher on the Gundlach Bundschu estate. So much that Alina Hardin is cast in an afternoon shadow, a golden darkness that lends to the arrest in her performance. It’s almost impossible to understand how such a wicked game could be played in such a picturesque pastoral backdrop, but the West is no place for the meek, even in wine country.
Expect plenty of tranquil moments like this at Huichica this year with performances by Amen Dunes, Allah-Las, The Fresh and Onlys, Jessica Pratt, Sonny and the Sunsets, Shannon and the Clams, and Pure Bathing Culture.
