There are so many things to love about Tacocat: the pleasing palindrome of their name, the deliciousness of their album cover, the hilarious album title (one that we hope refers to the best abbreviation in the game: NVM = nevermind). But there is still so much more. Tacocat, Seattle natives and colorful pop-punkers, are set to release their debut full-length record with Hardly Art, and on their second single, the big dogs are summoned. With a debut on Rookie Mag yesterday evening, “Crimson Wave” banks on bubblegum sweet melodies to lament the worst time of month. Never short on good jokes or debilitating hooks, TacoCat proves that boys and girls alike will be singing along to this surfy earworm. Similar to regional pals La Luz, the only question that remains: where are these surf vibes coming from?
Tacocat's NVM will come out through Hardly Art on February 25. You can stream “Crimson Wave” below and catch the fourpiece in their natural environs at the dates below the embed.
