The UV Race, “You’re So Shy”

The UV Race stand among very few groups who’ve produced a feature-length film along with a rather extensive discography. And soon, the Melbourne outfit, which includes members of Total Control and Dick Diver, among many others, will release another movie, entitled The UV Race Disgrace Space. Shot by Johann Rashid, it follows the group into space for a gig, though their great galactic premiere is reportedly complicated by terrorists and whatnot. Like their earlier celluloid outing, Autonomy & Deliberation, the soundtrack will be released independently. And one song, “You’re So Shy”, already has a music video, streaming above. It’s in the style of the UV Race’s more understated material: a breezy pop song with deadpan vocals and svelte saxophone. It also seems to be about gaining confidence through drugs.
