Trans FX, “Into The Blu”

Jes Skolnik

Olympia’s Trans FX released an excellent full-length LP on Perennial/K Records this past Friday, the first in a series of co-releases from two of the best labels in the Northwest. The album is full of perfectly gloomy, alien pop for all of us who’ve ever felt like there’s a layer of glass between us and the social world; not fitting into any scene, even the ones that declare they’re built by and for us weirdos.

Here, we premiere the video for the album’s title track, directed by Chapin Long and Jamie Vague. It’s a flickering filmic dreamworld appropriate for an indie pop album with its shuffling feet on the concrete floor and its head in the night clouds.
