Ecuadorian-American trop-pop staple and Julianna Barwick collaborator Helado Negro (which ironically translates to “black ice cream” in Spanish) has just dropped a sweltering new single via Asthmatic Kitty called “Ojos Que No Ven”.
The moniker of Roberto Carlos Lange, it’s a sinewy, sweltering song that woozes and oozes amongst layered vocals and breathy accents. Mysterious and yearning, it’s filled with lusty calls that whisper “ámame” (“love me”) and is a desirous dweller that simmers with sticky synths and tropical-leaning percussion. You don’t need to speak Spanish to know what Lange wants, which is definitely steamy enough to melt even the deepest freeze.
