Anna Straker, “How We Are”

Watch out world. Anna Straker has just released a new single, and it’s killer. For those of you who don’t know, Anna Straker is an ambitious young gal who started her career singing back-up vocals on hit singles and albums by the likes of Rudimental, John Newman, Years and Years, and Fono. She quickly started pursuing her own solo career, leaving school at age 17 and moving to London. Her debut single called “Late Night Swimming” received numerous praise. Now she’s back at it again with her latest offering.

Her new single is called “How We Are”, and it’s written, recorded, and produced by Straker herself. The first few bouncy synth sounds are reminiscent of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”. But – once her vocals join in – it’s clear that it’s a whole other tune. The first is relaxed but when the chorus hits, the track transforms into force of nature that will compel you to dance. Anna’s voice is incredible, with an amazing range and tons of energy behind it. This track is perfect for a fun night out, and this flawless groove will guarantee that you’ll be listening to it over and over, because I know I will. I think I’m in love with this song.
