A heartbeat. The sound of raindrops falling steadily. The slow crawl of instrumentals gracefully entering the scene, while you can barely make out a conversation. And then the sounds disappear and the bass drops, giving way to a slow, soulful, smooth song.
This is how we enter Broken Luxury‘s new single, which features the enticing saxophonist Jessi Lee. A song of love lost, with lyrics like “It’s tearin’ me up / I’m up all night missing you now / I need you here,” it tears at your heartstrings. But the vocals indicate a glimmer of hope.
And it gives you something to hold onto.
