Word just arrived from Philadelphia that Work Drugs have leaked a brand new single that folks are already associating with gushing superlative expressions like, best song I have ever heard in my life & much more flowery embellishments. But all this & more is no exaggeration, as this is a single from the smoothest & slickest in the pop game dropping by what is possibly their best jam yet with “Giving Up the Feeling”. The debut single featured off upcoming One Foot off the Merry-Go Round album available this summer showcases a newfound focus on manifesting environmental expanses through ingenious audio designs. “This song was recorded in Puente Vallecas and was written during the summer of 2015 while on holiday,” Benjamin Louisiana explained, “We opened up the room mic’ing to give the room a little more atmosphere than previous records that we felt worked well on this track.”

“Giving Up the Feeling” comes on like a wavy rush of sweet sensations of a holiday to last for all time. Work Drugs are notorious for creating the most plush yacht-ready tracks in the world, and the Philly group does not disappoint. A track that arrived seemingly out of the blue edifies the sport of amour like an arena event initially enjoyed live on television and later revised and reinvented into a biopic. “Feeling” sizzles with sensations from the silver & mobile screens where flights of fancy & sophisticated vanity find each other like oddest of discovered bedfellows taking off into the night’s luminous fade. In our most recent exchange, Work Drugs Ben elaborated further on the creation of the new single with insights on the evolutionary nature of the forthcoming’s album’s inception, praxis & process:

There was a conscious attempt to open up the drum sound on this one, change the overall aesthetic a bit and all in all—we are pretty excited about how it turned out. The current new album title is One Foot off the Merry-Go Round, but in Kanye fashion that may change as we go along in into. The album will come out this summer.
