Ivor Cutler, “Shoplifters”

Currently looking for Ivor’s grave to just pass some notes from the fence of appreciation and considerable sentimentality for his nursing.

Dear Nora, “Mountain Rock”

Dear Nora/Key Losers are some of the most influential and validating freak projects on earth. Katy Davidson has been making music longer than many of us have been listening to music, and thank the gods in ourselves she’s finally acknowledged by all the other pip-squeaks who will love music to the life.

Julien Gasc, “La Cure” off Kiss Me You Fool

I met Julien after helping repair his bass and amp before a Lætitia Sadier concert in Seattle, Washington where we decided by the end of the night we would be encouraging something great working with each other from then on. The moment I landed in London, I made my way to find Julien’s band playing, where he invited me to play with him a song (“Worst Way”) I wrote (with his arrangement and new French lyrics). It was one of my best music moments, where I practiced phonetic french on the airplane sing this perfect adaptation of the song he made, called “La Cure.”

Sammus, “Nighttime” feat. Izzy True off of Pieces In Space

My roommate, Caroline, got this record from a Planned Parenthood benefit raffle, and as it clicked on I started dancing on an air-bed, feeling like I finally knew how to channel sexual energy into music epiphany instead of guarded self-care.

David Bowie “Candidate”

I’ve been using Diamond Dogs to warm up my voice for shows all year, maybe longer. I never tire of the cohesion of the whole record and the subverted questioning of found ethics and confidence. Fuck, it makes me fire. “My set is amazing, it even smells like a street.”
