In July we stalked G-Side’s Twitter to sleuth the latest on their follow-up to iSLAND, simply entitled #G. The Huntsville duo was talking with Killer Mike and Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire about potential collaborations and the video “Live From the G-Side” was a teaser that hinted of no slumps in creativity from the camp.
It’s been reported today (via Spin) G-Side has called it quits. ST 2 Lettaz will remain with Slow-Motion Soundz, while Clova will form his own company under the name Lambo Music Group. Rumors of the break-up should have been more prevalent after ST showed up to the group’s Hopscotch Festival performance in Raleigh, North Carolina, but to most of us, this is fresh and upsetting news. Only one question remains, “what happened to Slo-Mo ’til the world blow?”
ST 2 Lettaz will drop a solo EP, entitled R.E.B.E.L. next week and follow-up with #G… Growth & Development, which is the same record he and Clova began working on, but without his partner in rhyme. Below is “Wishing Well”, the first offering from ST’s solo EP:
Clova’s Lambo Music Group is off and running, as the label’s Soundcloud page is 12 tracks deep in its first 9 days of existence. We’ll report information of Clova’s solo record or music on Lambo Music Group as it develops.
