Along with hyped basketball fans and graying slush, March is bringing in the release of Bad Braids’ new album Eye of Night. The Philadelphia band crafts epic, intricately composed psychedlic folk, which has an orchestral quality in part due to the broad range of instruments they use—guitar, cello, toy piano, singing bowl, organ, theremin, flute, and harp, in addition to some less traditional instruments like wine glasses and chains. Megan Biscieglia’s hauntingly beautiful vocals soar above it all. In their new track “Jackal,” Biscieglia broods about the intricacies of nature and her unfamiliarity with new environments.
Eye of Night is due out late March. Stream “Jackal” below.
